SEEDS PROGRAM
The Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton recently announced its new SEEDS Project, Support for Enhancing Experiences for Dayton Students. This program invites Jewish families in Dayton to apply for up to $500 to send their children to a Dayton Jewish program or experience.
This program is open to all families regardless of income, and Hillel tuition is an expressly permitted expense for these subsidies. After you submit your easy online application and your application is approved, the Jewish Federation will send a check to Hillel.
Hillel Academy relies on donations to support the school’s many scholarships we provide. Applying to the SEEDS project funds is a great way to increase the percentage of tuition that supports the school’s operations.
Please plan to apply for this subsidy to support your children’s Hillel tuition school year when you submit your enrollment contract. This is a great opportunity to take advantage of a special offer from the Jewish Federation to support Jewish education at Hillel Academy.

EVERY CHILD EVERY FAMILY PROGRAM
The state of Ohio has passed a new law providing tax credits for donations to support scholarships at private schools. Now a donor can receive a 100% tax credit against their Ohio income tax liability up to $1500 per couple and $750 per individual per year for donations to qualified Scholarship Granting Organizations certified by the Attorney General.
Hillel is registered with Every Child Every Family, a certified Scholarship Granting Organization.
Donations for Scholarships will be available for qualified families based on need.
This program is an expansion of scholarship opportunities for Hillel families who qualify and represents an opportunity for our school to raise additional funds for scholarships.
Many families currently take advantage of the generous Sinai Scholarship program. In fact, Hillel currently has unfunded Sinai Scholarships and the school needs to find additional scholarship support to fund all of its scholarships.
To qualify for the Every Child Every Family Scholarship, families must have a total income no greater than the following: For a family of two, $78,880. For a family of three, $99,440, for a family of four $120,000, for a family of five, $140,560, for a family of six, $161,120, a family of seven $181,680.

EDCHOICE SCHOLARSHIP
Starting with the 2023-24 Academic Year, all students in the State of Ohio qualify for the Ohio EdChoice Scholarship. The full amount of the scholarship is approximately $6,165 per elementary school student. Under the traditional scholarship program, families who reside in designated public school districts are eligible for the full amount of the scholarship, regardless of income. The expansion scholarship designates families whose household income is at or below 450% of the federal poverty line as eligible for the full amount of the scholarship. Families with a higher household income are eligible for a prorated amount of the scholarship. All families qualify for a minimum of $650 per elementary school student.
EdChoice Scholarships apply towards tuition only. School fees are still the responsibility of the family.

SINAI SCHOLARSHIP
In past years, the Sinai Scholarship program required that families pay a limited amount of tuition per child without regard to financial need. In order for the school to successfully implement the new Every Child Every Family Scholarship, Hillel will need to know who is qualified for this program. If your child is receiving a Sinai Scholarship, and your family income is below the income limits listed above, we are asking you to fill out the confidential financial aid information and submit it to the third-party service provider so that they can determine if you qualify for Every Child Every Family scholarship support. You will still be recognized by Hillel as a Sinai Scholarship recipient. Every Child Every Family is a supplemental scholarship program that can provide critical additional tuition support to Hillel. If you have income above the required maximum amount to qualify for Every Child Every Family Scholarship, you will still receive the existing Sinai Scholarship as long as you qualify by being active participants at your synagogue or Chabad.
