Our History
Hillel Academy was founded in 1961 to provide a quality and comprehensive Jewish education for the children of the Dayton Jewish community.
“We knew we wanted our children in a Jewish school as we raise them in a Jewish home, but given how important academics are to us, we were initially concerned it would be a choice between the two. Hillel Academy has made it so that we did NOT have to choose between academics and religion. Our kindergartener comes home daily with a well-rounded, healthy, thirst-for-knowledge in ways we could only have hoped for. Our first grader, now reading and doing math above her grade level, as well as doodling the days of creation while she draws at the kitchen table.....we simply couldn’t be more proud. It is with a full heart we will be sending our third child to Hillel when he is old enough.”
