Amy Bloom

Amy Bloom teaches first through third grades. This is her sixth year teaching at Hillel Academy. Prior to being on the teaching staff, Amy was a Hillel parent and served for many years on the Board. She has a master's degree in education and prior to becoming a classroom teacher, Amy was a school psychologist. She believes that Jewish day school is a vital part of every community and teaching at Hillel is a special privilege. Jewish values combined with small class sizes allow each student to flourish. Amy and her husband, Michael have 3 kids, ages 26, 24, and 20. When she's not at Hillel, Amy can be found taking her 2 labradoodles for a walk or reading with them curled up on her lap.

She considers working with children and their families to be a meaningful and rewarding privilege. She is so excited to join our team and can’t wait to meet your child.

Recent Project

Shorashim and Nitzanim students have been immersed in Fairy Tales! To complete their study of them, each class put on a performance for the school—Shorashim performed The Three Bears and Nitzanim performed Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. They did a wonderful job! (Shout out to Mrs. Hoy, Ms. Ruetschle, and also Mrs. Levinson for the sets!) 🐻 🍎 🍏
